I decided I’d get another one done quickly, so I selected a simpler trace this time. Natsumi is still kind of cute. Note that her hair and eye colouring are consitent with the new Negima!? TV series and Negima OAV, rather than the manga. If people are upset by this, I can do a version with her manga colouring (red hair / green eyes) but I’ve decided to keep it consistent for now.

I’ve added 1600×1200 versions to all the other girls so far as well, because a number of people were getting upset that I was doing 1920×1200 only. Once again, I have no idea what to do next. I’ll probably spend the rest of tonight watching some anime (the only stuff I’ve watched this past week has been yesterday’s Kanon episode) and then I’ll try and do the next girl tomorrow. I’m sort of open to suggestions, but as I said in a previous post, everyone likes different girls. 
Another one done. This time I’ve done Sayo as I said I was planning to. She turned out really well, I think. I used dark blue for the linework and a bit of transparency, as well as some blends and some other tricks. Very happy with how it ended up looking.

I have no idea who I will do next. I’ve got a 4 day weekend due to the Melbourne Cup (yes, we have a public holiday for a horse race) so I imagine I’ll have time to get several girls done. I may decide to concentrate on some of the simpler ones and get them out of the way - I’m very serious about wanting to do all 31 of them.
However my free time may not end up being spent tracing. I’ve clocked only ten hours in Tales of the Abyss, I haven’t yet finished the first episode of Sam & Max: Freelance Police, I’ve got a bit of a backlog of anime to watch from the last week or two, and to make matters worse Final Fantasy XII is in the mail and Neverwinter Nights 2 releases in Australia next week.
Today is Negima Wednesday, and I’ve finished another trace. I started this back on Sunday after clocking 8 solid hours in Tales of the Abyss. This actually took a lot longer than I was expecting it to, mainly because her hair has a lot of lines. And it’s very nice hair. There’s something about it I’m not quite happy with, but I can’t put my finger on it. Still, good enough for now. I might revisit it eventually.

I promised some people I’d do Sayo next, so that’s what I’ll be doing. After that, I’m not really sure. I might try to get a few of the less important characters with simple images out of the way quickly, for example Sakurako, Natsumi, Ako, Madoka or Ku Fei. Then again, I’ve had a number of requests for Haruna and Setsuna. That’s the problem with Negima, really. There are so many girls that you find that everyone likes a different set of them and no one can ever agree.
And before anyone asks, Konoka, Setsuna, Yue, Makie, Evangeline. I’m not very interesting.
