Another weekend, another trace done. I don’t know if I’ll get a second done this week, I’m set to be pretty busy overall. Personally I’m not a big fan of Dominura, though this may change once she’s been given some decent development in the series (I’m waiting for Simoun-Fans releases at this point). I’m basically tracing this primarily to stop people pestering me for her.

Also, while I was fiddling around I accidentally made a cool red ‘alternate’ version. Well, I thought it looked cool anyway. 1920×1200 | 1600×1200.

The first of what I hope to be a series of tutorials explaining from first principles how I go about making my vector traces. This is basically an introductory chapter in which I go into some detail about what tracing is, why I (and others) bother with it, and also go over the structure of the upcoming tutorials. I guess if you’re looking for anything incredibly profound or insightful, you might be a little disappointed.

Testing the waters a little here… For a while I’ve been considering knocking together a multi-part ‘tutorial’ (read: explanation of what works for me) on how I do my vector traces. Would this be of any interest to anyone, or should I put that idea on the back burner for a while longer?
Yeah, I’ve done another one. I’d have finished a few hours ago, but I developed a debilitating shoulder cramp and had to take a few hours rest. I wish I was joking.

To be honest, I’m not really happy with how this turned out. Probably the weakest of the eyecatch traces I’ve done so far. Oh, and I’ve done a version with a different coloured background as well, for the people like me who think the above colours are a bit scungey. Get them here in 1920×1200 or 1600×1200.

It’s the weekend again, so here’s another Simoun trace. This is really a quickie - there wasn’t a huge amount to colour.

Currently not sure on who to do next. Had some requests for Dominura, but to be honest the two eyecatches of her so far aren’t quite to my liking. Odd angles and strange expressions. The last two episodes haven’t turned up anything that screams ‘trace me’ either.
