Trace of Sakura from Tsubasa Chronicle, from one of the eyecatches. I used quite a few filters and effects in this, and it should show. I finally understood how to make clipping masks. The eyes use a gaussian blur / inner glow combo as described. The highlights in her hair are gaussian blurred. Her clothes each have a duplicate path chunk that have a canvas texture which is overlaid at a low transparency to give her clothing a more cloth-like appearance. The shadows have also recieved an additional gaussian blur over the top of that.

For those playing at home, AnimeHaven finally finished subbing Galaxy Angel X (Galaxy Angel S4). Now, this update is kind of late since the series finished in Japan at the end of 2004, so if this is old hat to you then my apologies. For those that were watching it subbed, though, the end has finally come. Commencing misty-eyed chatter about how much I’m going to miss it.

Wow. It’s been a while. I know I haven’t exactly been the best at updating, but I hope to remedy that starting now. Much like Negs, I plan on doing an update every week or so to just ramble a bit about what I’ve been watching lately, with an occasional topic-oriented post whenever the mood strikes me. It’s the 21st of March, and the next season is nearly upon us. Rather than do an update today, I thought instead I’d mention which series I intend to be watching next season. Apparently there’s close to 70 series that will be running next season, so selecting the right ones to watch is a bit of an act, and involves a fair few tradeoffs. I actually wrote this up nearly a week ago, then I decided to scrap the entry and re-write it with pretty pictures. Everyone loves pictures.

In other news, in a previous update I mentioned my desire to buy a Mokona plushie. This morning the mailman delivered my Tsubasa Mokonas, both white and black. They are large and have soft fur and are very cuddly. ^_______^
