Gemini Knives?

Found this scan from a poster from the August issue of Megami Magazine:

It’s pretty clearly Megumi Kadonosono artwork, and in very fine print it says “© gimik”, together leading me to believe that what we’re looking at here is probably another Keiji Gotoh-directed anime series. For those who don’t know the name, Keiji Gotoh is a pretty well-known character designer (see Nadesico and Gatekeepers for examples of his work) who recently started directing anime. He was responsible for Kiddy Grade and Uta-kata, both of which are excellent series which I found quite enjoyable. From the artwork here, I can conclude this is probably something more along the lines of Kiddy Grade again. However, I’ve done some searching and aside from this image and another from Megami, there is absolutely no material about this. Since gimik apparently don’t run a website, and Gotoh’s own site hasn’t been updated since ‘04, I’m thinking that this may be all that’s out there. Does anyone know more?

General Bullshit Update

Yeah, sorry for the lack of updates of late. I meant to post every now & then, but things kept coming up and I never really got around to it. Well, things, and the fact that I just haven’t been in a writing mood. My class schedule was wiping me out; near the end of the term, I was so drained I was falling asleep behind the wheel driving home at the end of the day. Anyway, rather than take the time to individually update you on everything I’ve been watching of late, I’m just going to go through and hit the highlights really quickly. Expect individual updates to come later; I’m about to start a shitload of new shows, and I plan to start fresh in covering them here. For now though, enjoy the scraps.

Oh, by the way, I encourage you to pick up the most recent issue of Protoculture Addicts. Issue #85 with The Place Promised in Our Early Days on the cover. Why, you ask? Well, I just happen to have a two-page spread on the Boogiepop and Others movie published inside (pages 46-47, to be exact). My first published article, you’ll have to pardon me if I’m still a bit proud of it.

Anyway, onto things…

Futakoi Alternative Trace

I actually got off my fat ass and finished a vector I started back in July.

Trace of… um… one of the Shirogane twins from Futakoi Alternative. I really liked the way this scene looked, so I wanted to trace it. I tried a different method this time and like how it turned out, though it cost me a hell of a lot of extra work.

Fate / Stay Night Trading Figures

As I mentioned earlier today, my box of figures arrived. Apparently the selection is random, but I ended up with a very un-random looking distribution. Anyway, here’s some photos.

These are some excellent figures, very detailed and well worth the price. They stand roughly the same height as a 1/144 HG Gundam model, about 10-12cm.

Fate / Stay Night Trailer

Geneon have been showing this all over the place apparently, but won’t put it on the internet. Someone managed to get it on a video camera, and here’s a rip. I want to emphasise that I didn’t rip this. Also, please don’t link to it directly and leech our bandwidth, or I’ll have to take it down. It’s not very big (3.4mb) and you can’t hear any sound, but it looks very cool.

In other Fate news, my Fate Trading Figures arrived this morning. They’re really awesome. As an aside, if anyone (preferably in Australia) wants to buy my spare Saber, Rin or Sakura then feel free to contact me. I’ll take some photos soon.
