PinkuBentoBox

It would seem PinkuBentoBox has a new writer. Name’s Nagi; I used to run AthrunZala.org until I…stopped. Got a bit stuck, no one was reading, and naming my blog after a character I was losing interest in kinda led to me no longer updating there. Ah well, but Negs asked if I’d be interested in posting again on here, so I figured I’d go for it.

So who am I, exactly? Basically, I’m a twenty-year old college student majoring in animation, who also happens to be a bit of an animu fan (heh, “a bit”…right). I regard Haibane Renmei & Boogiepop Phantom as two of the greatest things Japan has ever done, I’m something of a Gundam nerd (with leanings toward mostly SEED & the Universal Century), and I also fancy a bit of Azumanga Daioh, MariMite, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ayashi no Ceres, The Big O, & Full Metal Panic!, among other titles. Hard to say exactly what I look for in anime…I basically like what I like, though I guess I do tend to fancy anything that’s either got some thought-provoking substance to it, is broad in scope (as in…not “deep,” but has an expansive universe to it…think Twelve Kingdoms), or is just plain well-written.

Some of the series I’m currently following include Kannaduki no Miko & Rozen Maiden from last season, Glass Mask ‘05 from this season (as well as the ‘84 version), Gundam SEED Destiny, You’re Under Arrest, Captain Harlock (slowly), Dokuro-chan, and Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, & s-CRY-ed via Adult Swim (Inu-Yasha, too, whenever they get new episodes, as well as Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex 2nd Gig when it debuts in…September, I think it is). I’ve also got Basilisk, Mai-HiME, 2×2 Shinobuden, & picking Beck back up still on tap, as well.

I guess that should be enough for now. I also might go back and revisit some series I’ve already completed as I get them on DVD (namely Zeta Gundam, Fullmetal Alchemist, maybe Gundam SEED), but for the most part I’ll try to just keep up with what I’m watching at the moment. I guess I’ll wrap things up here.
