Also, are you using K2 Sidebar Manager or using the Wordpress sidebar widgets? I'm using the K2 Sidebar Manager and the tag cloud seems a bit more spaced out. I wondered if that might be the issue with the tag cloud, if that makes a difference. You know, one of the other contributors on my blog had the same problem.
