We were running a hopelessly outdated (v2.1) version of Wordpress. Now we’re running 2.3.1, however the old Sakura theme is old enough that it’s broken. I’ve switched to the bog-standard Wordpress default until I’ve got a chance to switch us over to a new theme that I’ve got cooking.
I came, and I saw pink…
Goes well with pinkubentobox I guess.
The new design I’m working about is pink too.
Good thing for you to update the software to current spec, and I hope you’ve cracked out a nicer layout this time.
(now playing Aerosmith - Pink)
The mock-up that we settled on is this. Just got to find time to turn it into code.
The 2.3 upgrade had me tearing my hair out at first - it’s a real bummer when the layout you’ve put so much effort into breaks! That said, I’ve grown to like the latest version because the tags are really handy in tidying up the categories.
Your mock-up looks really cute - no sidebar though?
Problem: I can’t tell who posted blog posts. For example: was the one about the anime industry by NegativeZero or Nagi?
@Akin: It was Nagi, actually.
Yeah, I’m aware of the problem. It’s bizzare that the standard Kubrick theme doesn’t already display the info.
@Martin: Yeah, no sidebar. We talked it over and really the only thing in our sidebar that’s actually useful is the links and the ‘about’ stuff. We can just have dedicated pages for those.
One of the frustrating things for me with the old layout was how little space I had to play with, only about 400 pixels at the most before things started to break.
Fixed.
