My Anime List

I was pointed towards MyAnimeLIst.net earlier today. I watch far too much anime and keeping track of what I’ve seen and haven’t becomes a chore. Especially since I’m a compulsive hoarder. I used to maintain a text file, but that started to be too much effort. Tried a few anime listing programs but they never really fit my needs. ANN’s listing system sucks shit to actually add stuff to (plus ANN itself is an utter cesspit and if it wasn’t for the encyclopedia I’d never visit it) and generally nothing’s ever worked for me. Until now.

So yeah, got my Anime List up there now. Pretty much complete, though I’m sure some stuff has fallen through the cracks. Nagi’s upped his list too, and Marmot’s had one longer than either of us. Feel free to add us so we can all be nakayoshi dangofriends.

I’ve actually been preferring the more minimal AnimeSeen, but I’ve been hearing a lot about this too. From what it looks like, it seems like a facebook gone anime list? ;P

  2. 2 Totali

That is definitely the wrong link… http://animeseen.net/ xD

I’ve never touched facebook so I can’t make the comparison. It seems more like an anime / manga listing system with social networking aspects added on than it does the other way around though.

Also it uses lots of AJAX and does it quite well, making the actual interface a hell of a lot less painful as, say, ANN. Plus it’s not ugly and I don’t have to see godawful ANN money-grubbing everywhere. Seriously, Age of Empires III? What the fuck?

I’ve been using anime seen as well although the problem with that is you just manually add the titles yourself. For all you know you can add “The 3 Little Pigs and the tentacle monster - watched 26/26″ and there goes 1 complete show for ya! I started filling it up to like N going through anidb but got tired of manually adding all the shows. Is myanimelist more convenient? Maybe I should use that and join your nakayoshi dangodaikazoku

    JOIN IT, MY QUEEN!!!

    lol im just useing anidb…
with anidb’o'matic i add all the stuff i have and where i store it…an if it is watched and how i rated it..

@Hinano: MAL is much more convenient. It has a proper database - info crossreferenced against anidb, ANN and animenfo - and the process of searching for and adding new stuff is all done with AJAX so it’s quick, easy and pretty much seamless.

Thanks for posting this Negs, I’m loving MAL now. It’s distracted me halfway through a fresh Manami-ke trace. >.

You’ve convinced me, so I joined - Hinano was taken though so I went with the next best thing - Tsundere. ;)

I, too, have lept on this bandwidth. It is very Facebook-ish indeed, without the shitty spam (ninjas, pirates, hugs, rabid pitbulls with aids etc), and I feel utterly ashamed of myself for being able to make that comparison.

But not as much shame as I do admitting to actually watching both the Ai Yori Aoshi series to completion.
