Kiddy Grade 2 is coming. Apparently Eclair and Lumiere are being replaced with a suspiciously similar duo. Eclair’s replacement is apparently named Que-Feuilles. I stuck this shot together from a slow pan in the recent trailer, decided to trace it. I’m a big fan of Megumi Kadonosono’s design work despite the fact she lacks a bit of variation and I enjoyed most of Kiddy Grade, so I’m really looking forward to KG2 when it starts.
I have no idea what her name is supposed to mean. It’s some bizzare faux-French thing. At least Eclair was a real word - lightning - though as a name it’s usually given to boys. That said, it always made me think of tasty cream filled treats (I would happily help with the cream filling if you know what I mean :V)

As a Francophone, I can attest Que-Feuilles sounds awkward.
“Que” is a very versatile word: it can be a relative pronoun (Cette chose que je fais.=This thing that I do.), an interrogative pronoun (Que se passe-t-il?=What is going on?) or a conjunction (whether, than…) Not including the compound forms.

“Feuilles” is leaves (or sheets of paper)
Together, it could mean something like “So many leaves” or “Only leaves”, albeit very awkward or archaic.
Prior to the article in Newtype USA I thought the name might be “Coup Fille”. NTUSA have been wrong before so there’s no guarantee that Que Feuilles is actually correct, but it is the closest to official we have at the moment.

Could anyone tell me when K.G.2 Released? I’m Sodying to have it! The Pilot was Totally cool (After eeing the Pilot i became Que-Feuilles Fan!) and i saw a DVD Cover of K.G. 2 so when?
Man, I wish I knew. It was originally supposed to be out last year around September, and it completely dropped off the radar. Moonphase which is the source for this sort of stuff lists it still, but doesn’t have a date at all. I have a suspicion that it’s like Stellvia 2 or Vandread 3, and that they’re struggling to find a TV slot for it or secure a decent budget. Hopefully it’ll happen eventually.

TV slot in Japan. Japan doesn’t give two shits about Funimation after Funi pays the license fee for the title, and US broadcast would bring in a tiny fraction of what they’d make in Japan anyway.
The pilot was published straight to DVD, yes, but it’s not difficult to do promo discs like that. They were possibly testing the water and it may be that they didn’t get a favourable response.
Then why can’t we put up a website to make K.G.2 happen? the Original was good enough!
